International Desk: The United Nations has condemned the Russian missile attack on an apartment block in Dnipro, Ukraine. Stephanie Tremblay, spokeswoman for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, told reporters. Qatar-based media Al Jazeera reported this news in a report.
Stephanie Tremblay said Russia launched a missile attack on a residential block in Dnipro last Saturday evening. It was one of the deadliest attacks in Ukraine since the start of the Russian invasion last February. The UN Secretary General condemned the attack.
Denis Brown, the UN coordinator in Ukraine, called for effective investigations into possible war crimes and the proper prosecution of suspects.
Meanwhile, amid the war in Ukraine, Russia started the previously announced joint military exercises with Belarus on Monday. Moscow has long been pressuring Belarus to participate in the war in Ukraine. But Minsk claims that they will not join this war.
The Ministry of Defense of Belarus said that the joint exercise of the two countries, which started on January 16, will continue until February 1. The country’s Air Force and all air bases will be involved. In the meantime, the relevant air units of Russia have arrived in Belarus.
It should be noted that Russia conducted several military exercises in Belarus a few days before the attack on Ukraine on February 24.
